Bonita - Sandora Domes

Hidden behind a private gated entrance in Joshua Tree, Sandora Domes is one of the high desert's most iconic architectural retreats - a sculptural earth-built sanctuary featuring a resort-style pool and spa, Hammam bath house, meditation dome, outdoor kitchen, fire pit lounge, and immersive wellness spaces across nearly two private acres. Formerly known as Bonita Domes and featured by Dwell, Business Insider, and Palm Springs Life, this iconic property has been thoughtfully transformed into an elevated desert escape unlike anything else in the high desert.

Set across nearly two acres of serene desert grounds, Sandora blends organic architecture, handcrafted materials, and immersive outdoor living to create a stay that feels both cinematic and deeply restorative. Sculpted domes, curved plaster walls, custom tilework, and thoughtfully designed gathering spaces invite guests to slow down, reconnect, and experience Joshua Tree from an entirely new perspective.

At the heart of the property, a custom pool and spa anchor the outdoor experience, surrounded by multiple spaces for gathering, dining, and unwinding beneath open desert skies. Spend afternoons lounging poolside, preparing meals in the built-in outdoor kitchen and BBQ area, or enjoying sunset cocktails at the outdoor bar before gathering around the custom sunken fire pit for stargazing and conversation long after dark.

Designed with wellness in mind, Sandora offers a series of spaces dedicated to restoration and ritual. Begin your mornings with yoga on the private deck, meditate in the dedicated dome sanctuary, rinse off in the handcrafted stone outdoor shower, or retreat to the spa-inspired bath house, featuring custom tilework, an indoor soaking tub, and an open-air soaking experience that brings the desert indoors and the indoors out.

Evenings unfold beneath an ocotillo-shaded dining pavilion, where long dinners and slow conversations become part of the experience. Whether you're celebrating with friends, reconnecting with family, or simply seeking a one-of-a-kind desert retreat, Sandora offers a stay that feels equal parts architectural landmark, boutique resort, and private sanctuary.

Located just minutes from the entrance to Joshua Tree National Park, local cafés, galleries, and the shops of downtown Joshua Tree, Sandora places the best of the high desert within easy reach while feeling worlds away.
